Staff Development Workshop
Workshop for School Staff
Full-day (6 hour) workshop to be held at your school, is open to the entire school staff. Workshop introduces the benefits of yoga, mindfulness and health education and its application in the classroom environment. This fun and informative workshop will relax and inspire the adults in your school community while preparing them to share the program with their students. The workshop is led by a Licensed Y4C Instructor extensively trained and experienced with the program. Workshop utilizes the 230 pg, fully-illustrated, full-color Yoga 4 Classrooms Teacher's Guide (see below), ensuring the program is both easy to use and sustainable for long-term use. Absolutely no yoga experience is required. In fact, teachers are encouraged to wear their regular, comfortable clothing and flat soled shoes to the workshop as we'll be simulating a classroom experience.
Those completing a Yoga 4 Classrooms Staff Development Workshop are eligible to receive .5 CEUs from the University of Southern Maine (USM). Your Yoga 4 Classrooms Instructor will have the applications at the workshop. A $20 processing fee is payable with the application to be submitted to USM.
Attendees may also be eligible to receive Professional Development Points (PDPs) for this workshop. As each credentialing organization has their own requirements, staff members should confirm their training hours will apply toward their degree or continuing education requirements.
Registered yoga teachers who attend are also eligible for Continuing Education Training Hours through Yoga Alliance.
The Staff Development Workshop is $950. There no limit on number of participants, though all should be on staff of the same school.
Yoga 4 Classrooms Teacher's Guide
Designed to support the implementation of Y4C™ activities in the classroom, the Yoga 4 Classrooms Teacher’s Guide is a 230 pg, fully-illustrated, color reference to all of the content covered in the full day workshop. Guide includes benefits of yoga for children in educational settings, objectives for students, teachers and schools, directions for all 67 activities, suggested sequences (based on outcome sought and time available), resource and research reference listings, and much more. Guides should be pre-ordered at least 3 full weeks in advance of your staff's workshop date in a quantity to assure at least one manual per participant.
