Karen Michaud-Holland was certified as a Childlight Yoga™ Instructor in June of 2009. She taught group fitness for almost 18 years at health clubs in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She now brings her love of physical fitness and yoga working as a paraeducator in Special Education at the Gilmanton School. Now that the Gilmanton School is a Y4C™ school, Karen enjoys helping the teachers and staff implement the program to give the students tools to relieve stress and anxiety, promote focus and concentration and promote an overall sense of well-being. "My proudest moment was creating a program for the teachers and staff to help students alleviate the stress and anxiety that surrounds NECAP testing. Together with the talented Occupational Therapists at the school, I was able to create a simple, effective tool that utilizes breath exercises, yoga poses and movement breaks to help the students calm their anxiety and assist with their focus. I look forward to sharing the Yoga 4 Classrooms program with other schools." Karen resides in Gilmanton Iron Works, New Hampshire with her husband and two daughters.
