Helen Maxwell, E-RYT holds specialized certifications in vinyasa flow, yin, therapeutic, restorative as well as a degree from Duke Integrative Medical Center in Yoga of Awareness for Cancer. In addition, Helen is a Certified ChildLight Yoga Instructor and Licensed Yoga 4 Classrooms Instructor. Having personally practiced yoga for over 17 years, Helen aims to provide a fresh, friendly, simplistic quality to each class she leads. Her instruction is more balanced having had the honor to study with: Judith Hanson Lasater, Stephanie Keach, Rod Stryker, Shala Rain, Cora Wen, Doug Keller, various MD’s and staff from the Duke Integrative Medical Center, various aspirants from Yogaville, Doug Swenson, Joe Taft and most recently, Lisa Flynn. Helen learns as much from her students as from her teachers. Yoga 4 Classrooms is the most recent step on her yoga journey, bringing awareness of breath, body and mind to the young people in our world and assisting teachers in manifesting a positive change within their classrooms, community and beyond. Helen lives in Bedford, Va with her husband, four children and two dogs. Helen enjoys running, making custom ceramic tiles and is the owner of the Bedford Yoga Center.
